Activity

ACTIVITY

As a reminder, activity checks can be passed with the following:

200 points per character. Threads carried out in inboxes or on the various Reverie communities all count. However, while TDM threads can be used for bonus AC, they can't be used for standard AC. Threads used to pass standard AC cannot be used for bonus AC.

Activity points are broken up like so:
» log comment (face to face interaction) = 20 points
» network (text, voice, video) = 10 points

AC can be submitted at any time within an AC period. Utilize the form to the right to submit the required 200 points, posting your results under your character's header. There will be no warning lists posted. If you have not submitted AC during the AC period, your character will be swept from the game. Submissions will be accepted up until the last day of the month.

You can request a strike before or during the AC period by contacting the mod team. Players cannot take two strikes in a row, and cannot take a strike for the AC period following a hiatus. You also cannot request a hiatus after a strike, aside from extenuating circumstances. To clear a strike, you'll need 300 points in the next AC period. You can only hiatus if you have passed the previous AC check.
AC SUBMISSION FORM

BONUS AC SUBMISSION FORM

BONUS ACTIVITY

If your character accumulates extra activity points, these points can be spent on in-game rewards. These rewards are outlined below, and range from items from back home to additional character slots. Bonus AC can be submitted at any time.

There is a cut-off for bonus AC thread submissions. Anything older than 3 months as of the date of submission can not be used as bonus AC any longer. Additionally, we save AC point information for up to 3 months after a character has dropped in case a player wishes to re-app. After this period, they will have to start from scratch.

Please note that this is entirely player-driven and optional. If you do not want to count extra AC, you do not have to.

The fantastic [personal profile] wingstosee has created the official unofficial Reverie Terminal AC spreadsheet. It can be found HERE to download or make a copy of.

Use of this spreadsheet is not mandatory in any way, but may be helpful to players.

» MEDIUM ACTION (3000 points): This will provide you with a medium action specific to your character in the setting. Please let us know if there is anything you would like to avoid (e.g. injury, triggers). » BIG ACTION (6000 points): This will provide you with a big action specific to your character in the setting. Please let us know if there is anything you would like to avoid (e.g. injury, triggers).
REQUEST A REWARD FORM

SUBMIT A TASK/MISSION FORM

TASKS & MISSIONS

Additionally, you may find it worth your while to participate in station tasks and missions. Tasks are simple requests to engage with the station or the environment and can be carried out by signing up and threading out the thematic element of the described situation. A completed task is worth an additional 200 bonus ac points, and must be reported in your character thread in order to receive the credit for completion.

From time to time, missions will also be available to participate in. These are similar to tasks but have a much higher risk and smaller time frame for completion. Participants in these missions will have a direct influence on the future of the station. Like tasks, an additional 200 bonus ac points will be rewarded to those who sign up and provide submission of their completed thread(s).

Reward Type: Station Tech (sort of)
Description: More question than reward request, but—I was hoping to use the mainframe's bonus points to buy him more access to the station's systems over time. (Or possibly, the okay for other characters to ICly connect him to these systems—it'd depend on whether they're locked off by software or just not physically integrated with the computers he's on.) The idea would be minor things that could slowly increase his ability to interact with or assist the crew.

So, questioning! 1) Is this a feasible kind of reward for Hank?, and 2) If so, how would you scale the costs? Considering his distributed nature and the fact that even smaller-scale access has the potential to affect a wider area than most tech, I'd be perfectly okay with it costing more than the usual 1000 points.

In the event that he does have enough points already, the first upgrade I'd like to put in for would be in electricals: specifically, the capability to turn on and off lights.

That's awesome to hear on both counts! I would like to go ahead with that reward, then. And when time permits, a few followup questions:

1) Are these upgrades something that can be unlocked within the console, or something that requires new hardware hookups in order to work? (I'm asking partly for potential threading, but also for plot curiosity—if the consoles have been internally blocked from accessing systems they could connect to, that has Interesting Implications!)

2) I'm not requesting any of the following now, but for future plotting purposes, I'd be grateful for cost estimates on the following:

  • Life support monitoring - Anything from "how are the air filters doing" to "is the station maintaining adequate heat"—the ability to check on key systems and let people know if they need repairs. If this is something that you'd prefer be broken up into different subsystem categories, that's fine too!
  • Electricals 2: Outlets - The ability to allocate or remove power within normal deviations from stuff plugged into a room. Mostly useful in terms of keeping specific resources going in the event of power difficulty, but in theory if he really wanted to mess up someone's breakfast, he could "unplug" their toaster or something?
  • Electricals 3: Weird Shit! - In his own canon, the mainframe overloads the power circuit to a security droid bay, frying the bot inside in order to assist the game's protagonist. While that's obviously an extreme example and anything involving other players would need to be discussed with them, the ability to overload or generally affect the electrical systems in nonstandard ways is something I'd be curious about further down the road.

Definitely understood that exploration/gameplay might restrict some of these options regardless of the specific cost. Thanks for your time and answers!

No worries at all on the delay. And thanks for being so thorough! If I can follow up on a few things:

1) Re: the electrical fields-- are whatever devices generate these fields within the unlocked areas of the station identifiable? (Either on an internal-system level or a external-engineer one.)

2) What level of buy-in on electrical control would be required to detect power flow to or from the sealed spaces? Is such a thing possible at all? (To clarify, I'm not asking after control or manipulation in that regard. Just detection of which locked areas might be using or producing more power than the rest of the station.)

3) Unrelated, but: how much for the ability to open and close (normal, not-sealed-area) doors?

Re: the latter—where on the station seems to be using or generating the most power? What would Hank be able to detect currently about the sealed spaces in particular?

(Also, let me know if I should take questions like this elsewhere! I feel a little bad clogging up your activity post with query spams.)

Huge apologies for the mistakes! I get my totals from a spreadsheet designed to generate the table, but apparently botched my own code badly this time around-- a few entries were incorrect, and others seem to have vanished. To correct some of my errors:

  • The right link for the "ID: 1" thread is here; there should be three comments there. The "ID: aqua" thread was absolutely my miscount; sorry!
  • The below threads were left out of June's table, but included in the sum (they had slightly fewer comments at the time, but I'll submit the current count to clear them for the future):
Log: Thread with Agent Washington - 9 COMMENTS = 135
    Log: Thread with Nines - 7 COMMENTS = 105

I think the rest of the errors were sum functions-- it looks like I added my total from April to my total from May before doing the cumulative, so I ended up doubling. (Quite possibly the same going from May to June.) Huge thanks for sorting through it, and I promise I'll do better checking my work in the future. I'll also keep in mind the note about continued threads; I hadn't realized that was an issue!

To resubmit the three above in proper (sorted) format:

June:
LOG THREADS (15pts):

Thread with Agent Washington -9 COMMENTS= 135
Thread with Nines -7 COMMENTS= 105
16 comments240 points

NETWORK THREADS (10pts):

Thread with One -3 COMMENTS= 30
3 comments30 points
