![]() BONUS AC SUBMISSION FORM
|
If your character accumulates extra activity points, these points can be spent on in-game rewards. These rewards are outlined below, and range from items from back home to additional character slots. Bonus AC can be submitted at any time. There is a cut-off for bonus AC thread submissions. Anything older than 3 months as of the date of submission can not be used as bonus AC any longer. Additionally, we save AC point information for up to 3 months after a character has dropped in case a player wishes to re-app. After this period, they will have to start from scratch. Please note that this is entirely player-driven and optional. If you do not want to count extra AC, you do not have to. The fantastic ![]() Use of this spreadsheet is not mandatory in any way, but may be helpful to players. |
![]() SUBMIT A TASK/MISSION FORM
|
Additionally, you may find it worth your while to participate in station tasks and missions. Tasks are simple requests to engage with the station or the environment and can be carried out by signing up and threading out the thematic element of the described situation. A completed task is worth an additional 200 bonus ac points, and must be reported in your character thread in order to receive the credit for completion. From time to time, missions will also be available to participate in. These are similar to tasks but have a much higher risk and smaller time frame for completion. Participants in these missions will have a direct influence on the future of the station. Like tasks, an additional 200 bonus ac points will be rewarded to those who sign up and provide submission of their completed thread(s). |
Hank (mainframe AI) | The Fall
tdm -> mid-may
Reward Type: Station Tech (sort of)
Description: More question than reward request, but—I was hoping to use the mainframe's bonus points to buy him more access to the station's systems over time. (Or possibly, the okay for other characters to ICly connect him to these systems—it'd depend on whether they're locked off by software or just not physically integrated with the computers he's on.) The idea would be minor things that could slowly increase his ability to interact with or assist the crew.
So, questioning! 1) Is this a feasible kind of reward for Hank?, and 2) If so, how would you scale the costs? Considering his distributed nature and the fact that even smaller-scale access has the potential to affect a wider area than most tech, I'd be perfectly okay with it costing more than the usual 1000 points.
In the event that he does have enough points already, the first upgrade I'd like to put in for would be in electricals: specifically, the capability to turn on and off lights.

Regarding your questions:
1) It is absolutely feasible as a reward for Hank and/or other interested AIs. We'd like to note that the reach of these rewards will also depend on where we are at with gameplay/openess of the station, but we definitely approve of the idea!
2) To gain the ability to turn the lights on and off in any of the rooms where he is installed on a console, you'd need 500 points. Would you like to have these points subtracted from your total and the reward processed?

1) Are these upgrades something that can be unlocked within the console, or something that requires new hardware hookups in order to work? (I'm asking partly for potential threading, but also for plot curiosity—if the consoles have been internally blocked from accessing systems they could connect to, that has Interesting Implications!)
2) I'm not requesting any of the following now, but for future plotting purposes, I'd be grateful for cost estimates on the following:
Definitely understood that exploration/gameplay might restrict some of these options regardless of the specific cost. Thanks for your time and answers!

CUMULATIVE POINTS TOTAL: 1095
We will discuss and come back to you on your questions as soon as possible.

1) Whether the upgrades can be unlocked within the console or require new hardware hookups depends very much on the specific upgrade. The ability to control the lights can be unlocked within the console.
2a) Life support monitoring would need to be broken up into subsystem categories, with each category between 500 - 1500 points, depending on importance.
2b) There are no outlets on the station, but he may gain the ability to redirect the electrical fields that charge things wirelessly. This would be an expensive ability to gain (from 2000 points upward depending on the extent to which he can do it), and of course if he were ever to use it to mess with someone, prior ooc permission is required.
2c) The information from 2b holds also for this question.

1) Re: the electrical fields-- are whatever devices generate these fields within the unlocked areas of the station identifiable? (Either on an internal-system level or a external-engineer one.)
2) What level of buy-in on electrical control would be required to detect power flow to or from the sealed spaces? Is such a thing possible at all? (To clarify, I'm not asking after control or manipulation in that regard. Just detection of which locked areas might be using or producing more power than the rest of the station.)
3) Unrelated, but: how much for the ability to open and close (normal, not-sealed-area) doors?
no subject
1. They would be identifiable on an external-engineer level.
2. It's possible and would be 1000 points.
3. 500 points.

mid-may -> early june
Reward Type: Station tech/access
Description: The ability to open/close non-sealed doors (500 points), the ability to detect power flow through the station (1000 points).
Re: the latter—where on the station seems to be using or generating the most power? What would Hank be able to detect currently about the sealed spaces in particular?
(Also, let me know if I should take questions like this elsewhere! I feel a little bad clogging up your activity post with query spams.)

CUMULATIVE POINTS TOTAL: 805
You're welcome to keep asking questions relating to bonus AC here, but for easier processing, please put submissions, requests and questions each into individual comments in the future.
Regarding the question: part of the locked area on Deck 2 and the station shaft are using the most power. At the same time, the shaft is also generating the most power.
june -> mid-july tagging
May:
June:
Note: When putting up a mingle that I also tagged Hank into, I counted both the logpost and his starter. If it should only be one, feel free to subtract 20!

We've noticed some discrepancies in your submission. By our count, the thread with "id: 1" has only two comments from you, not three, and the thread with "id: aqua" has three, not four. We're also not quite sure how you get to the totals. If we tally up your June points, deducting 20 points for the aforementioned, we get 160 points for May and 1095 points for June, making points in total. Please let us know if we've made a mistake anywhere.
We also have a request: in the future, please separate your submission into open starters, log tags and network tags and put these in separate sections as in the format provided. When linking a continued thread, please link to where the continuation starts instead of the entire thread. Thank you!
CUMULATIVE POINTS TOTAL: 2105

I think the rest of the errors were sum functions-- it looks like I added my total from April to my total from May before doing the cumulative, so I ended up doubling. (Quite possibly the same going from May to June.) Huge thanks for sorting through it, and I promise I'll do better checking my work in the future. I'll also keep in mind the note about continued threads; I hadn't realized that was an issue!
To resubmit the three above in proper (sorted) format:
June:

NETWORK THREADS (10pts):

Cumulative Total: 2375
