STATION TASKS & MISSIONS

There are plenty of tasks that need doing on Reverie Terminal to keep the station in good shape, or at least to keep it running, even (and especially) outside of events. Players can sign up their character for one or several of these tasks and use them as opportunities to get CR, keep active and generally be involved with the station.

How do I sign up for a task?
Just comment under the respective header. These headers also specify whether there are any special requirements (teams, skills, etc.) or not.

How do I complete a task?
Again, just comment under the respective header/to your sign-up comment with a link to a thread pertaining to the task. This can be an open log or network post, but also a closed thread pertaining to the task.

Is there a time limit?
Some tasks are time sensitive, others are not. The task will generally specify whether it must be completed within a given time period, or whether it is open-ended.

Can I sign up for more than one task?
Yes, although some tasks may have limited sign-ups available. For these, characters not signed up to other (uncompleted) tasks will be given preference.

My character wouldn't think to do one of these things, what do?
Perhaps there are other characters that can get your character involved in the action or spur them into it. For some tasks, CIRSTA might also suggest that it be done. In case of doubt, please feel free to ask.

Do I get anything out of this?
Completing a task will give the character 200 bonus AC points. For this, please link your sign-up thread with the completion link on the bonus AC page as well. These 200 points cannot be used for the actual activity check, of course.

What if I have questions?
There is a comment thread for general questions. If your question is specific to the task at hand, please ask it under your sign-up.

Is the chance of user injury on the VR sets still hovering around 10%?

Yes, though as per our last communication, the risk will appear considerably lower.

TASK 1: MOVIE NIGHT

WHAT? Organise a movie night.
REQUIREMENTS? Character must have access to movies.

Hajime has a small selection of in-universe movies available to stream from his communicator, and he's the type who, with very little prodding, would try to get people together to watch them! He has some horror movies, a period drama a la Jane Austen and a few romantic comedies.

TASK 2: SELF DEFENSE

WHAT? Organise a self defense class.
REQUIREMENTS? Characters must know self defense to such a degree that they could teach it (or fail miserably in the attempt).

TASK 3: GYM CLASS

WHAT? Organise a gym class. Think zumba, aerobics, weight lifting.
REQUIREMENTS? Characters must be physially fit (or stop the class halfway through because they're too out of breath to continue).

TASK 4: CLEANING

WHAT? The station's corridors are grimey. Grab some cleaning supplies and clean, either alone or with others.

TASK 6: MAKE THE STATION GREEN AGAIN

WHAT? Many of the spaces on the station (corridors, the tables of the mess hall, the chapel) contain hydroponic 'shelves' for plants. With the plant room and its many seeds discovered, characters can now fill these shelves again and make the station green again.
REQUIREMENTS? n/a (though talking to someone with the relevant expertise may be a good idea)

TASK 7: STOCKING & TENDING BAR

WHAT? The replicators produce alcohol that is not completely terrible. Keep the bar stocked and then tend bar.

This task is open to five sign-ups per month and needs to be completed before the end of the month.

TASK 8: RUN A VR SIMULATION

WHAT? Programme and run a simulation in the VR room.
REQUIREMENTS? Sufficient programming capabilities.

This task is open to five sign-ups and does not have a time limit.

Hellooooooo.

Deets for fellow signups: Erika has done a lot of work on the VR headsets/computer/software over the last few months and more or less has what it takes to create simulations. She withdrew from it to deal with more pressing things last month, but could easily be convinced to get back on it and/or teach someone the ins and outs. When she left off, she was trying to build a zero-G training simulation.

She often occupies the VR room and leaves things in there, so she's easy to find for interested parties.
